I’m Qing — a researcher who also likes to build things.

My main work revolves around computer systems and chips, but my interests don’t stay strictly within any single field. Hardware, software, AI, automation — even problems that have nothing to do with research — as long as something is interesting enough, I usually want to figure out how it works, and sometimes I end up building something along the way.

To me, research and building are not two entirely different things. Research is asking, again and again, why a system is the way it is; building is trying to answer: could it exist in some other form? Often, a paper, a prototype, and a piece of software that actually works are just different stages of the same question.

This site is where these things settle. Projects collects what I’ve built and am building; Notes records thoughts on chips, systems, AI, automation, products, and whatever else happens to catch my interest. I don’t intend to limit it to a purely technical blog, nor do I require everything here to be sufficiently “formal.”
